Customer Questions & Answers

Question:

can I plug these speakers to my Samsung galaxy S5 ?
By mls on 2014-12-09

Answer:

These speakers are "active" or "self powered". They accept a standard headphone jack input so anything that has 3.5mm jack output can be plugged into them. All they need is an input from laptop/iPod/mp3 player device to play the songs, movie etc..

Question:

How do you know how far the volume is up on the actual speaker? It doesn't seem to correlate with computer volume.
By Steven on 2014-01-11

Answer:

Steven, You have a valid point. I simply count the number of increments on the speaker as an "indirect" scale of volume, find a base-line volume level, but I actually prefer to use the more sensitive volume increments from my computer once I set an initial speaker volume. Indeed, there is no meter or indicator of volume level on the speakers - only incremental increase and decrease controls. I happen to be more satisfied with the controls coming from my computer. It may be a matter of preference, but I remain pleased with the sound, reliability, and value of the speakers as well as controlling the fine volume tuning from my computer rather than getting up from my chair and having to reach for the speakers.

Question:

Strange chemical smell ? They have a strong chemical smell, not only when taking them out of the box, but also days later. Anyone else noticed?
By Kunde on 2015-02-08

Answer:

Depends on the smell. If it is a plasticky smell, it is due to it being a new product, all plastics emit an odor for a short time. A week out of the box and it will be gone, even a few hours in the sun will do it. If it is a burning smell, it could be a short circuit, if so return it.
By Jim Bendfeldt on 2015-02-08

Question:

Does anyone know is the input for these is 220v-110v ?
By Michael S. on 2014-10-31

Answer:

I purchased these in the US (110v) after seeing a friend's pair in the UK (220v). From my experience, I have used US electronics in the UK & Europe with either a power transformer or just a plug adapter (easier) and vice-versa. However, if you live in the UK or Europe, you can pick up a pair over there for 220v. Hope that helps.

Question:

Anybody knows what's the bluetooth version?
By A. S. on 2016-01-24

Answer:

I can't see any specs that say what it is. I can say it works fine with my ancient samsung galaxy s II which has Bluetooth v3.0, A2DP but I don't know if my phone is falling back to some earlier protocol like 2.x. My iFive x2 tablet is more modern with Bluetooth v4.0 and also connects but again I don't know if it is falling back to some earlier protocol. Sorry I can't help more.

Question:

Would these speakers work well with a 32" samsung tv? how wide are the speakers and how high is the round part?
By Jackie G. on 2015-06-29

Answer:

As long as you have the proper audio port on the TV it should work. The speakers are approximately 4" at the widest and approximately 5" is the highest part of the base (round part). These specifications are all available on the manufacturer's website. Hope this helped.

By Joseph J Kenny on 2013-10-21

Question:

Can the speakers be wall mounted ?
By Eric on 2013-11-05

I would say not, without a mini shelf.
By Eric on 2013-11-05

Question:

Can I turn down the bass if I still think the bass is too strong?
By Jevon E on 2014-11-18

Answer:

There are volume controls and a power switch. That's about it. The bass on these things is nice, but it's certainly not booming unless you turn the volume up really high. Fairly well balanced for an inexpensive pair of speakers.
By GeneticD on 2014-11-18

Question:

can these speakers be powered by USB?
By C. Sommer on 2014-08-28

Answer:

No. They have a conventional electric cable (small plug on speaker side, mains plug on other) and no USB ports. These are *not* small, portable speakers, but are about a foot high and 6" deep. They are pretty good speakers -- akin to the low-end studio monitors that I have on some other systems rather than anything you'd get from a portable set. I replaced an old 5.1 gaming sound system with these, and have been happy with them.
By Customer on 2014-08-28

Question:

Do these speaker work with Windows 10?
By MAry C. Paxson on 2016-03-11

Answer:

Yes, I'm running Windows 10. I don't know why their function would depend upon an operating system; but mine work fine with Windows 10.
By Calivati on 2016-03-11

Question:

Is it possible to alter the angle of the speakers so the silver is standing vertical?
By Lily Chen on 2014-07-04

Question:

Can I use a subwoofer I already own with these for a full sound?
By Dylan Ritter on 2014-05-04

Answer:

The audio signal from your computer is line level ( un-amplified). If your Subwoofer has it's own amplifier(probably does), you may be able to "split" the signal before the speakers with an audio signal splitter. You'll have to research it.
