There has been a new slate of shows hitting streaming lately and one of the biggest trends is docuseries. Docuseries takes the genre of documentary and expands upon it. Instead of telling a single story over a feature length amount of time, a docuseries will tell a story over a series of episodes that may cover multiple storeys across any span of time. We have put together a list of the latest docuseries that have been released online for streaming. We broke them down into two different categories: Inspiration and Intrigue. Inspiration involves series that will leave you inspired and moved to want to do more with your life. Meanwhile, intriguing series will satisfy your hunger for mysteries and suspense. Inspiration: Cheer

Availability: Now on Netflix Cheer is an inspiring docuseries on Netflix that follows the 40-part Navarro College Bulldogs Cheer Team from Corsicana, Texas contending in the National Cheerleading Championship held every year in Daytona, Florida. Navarro College has won fourteen championships in the junior college division and five grand nationals. Cheer follows five unique individuals in the world of Cheer. Some of these individuals come from a bad background and found a renewed purpose in cheerleading.

The 40-part team must compete not only with their rivals but with themselves to make it to the championships. We also see the physical aspect of cheerleading and the pain these people go through to become the best they can be. Cheer incorporates components of the historical backdrop of cheerleading, including the arrangement of the National Cheerleaders Association (NCA). From there competitive cheerleading grew and became its own sport.

Intrigue: Tiger King

Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness is a true crime docuseries about the life of infamous zookeeper Joe Exotic. This series focuses on the interconnected society of big cat conservationists. The main focus of the series is the long-standing conflict between Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic. Carole believes that Joe has been abusive towards his animals and Joe believes Carole is competition trying to shut down his zoo. Their feud has involved life threatening videos, abrasive legal allegations, and targeted harassment campaigns. It goes so far in which PETA and the United States Fish and Wildlife Service get involved in their feud.
